Continuity Physicians
A continuity physician (D-Arzt) is a specialist for surgery or orthopedics, who has received a special license from the professional association. He is responsible for the implementation and coordination of the treatment after work, school and commuting accidents.
A continuity physician has, among others, the following responsibilities:
- assessment of medical diagnosis and determination of the facts (for example, if it has to do with a work accident)
- first response specialist
- formulation of the continuity physician report for the insurance carrier
- when necessary, calling in other specialists
- coordination of rehabilitation
- implementation of the final examination, which the continuity physician heads
- prescription of necessary means of healing (e.g., massage, warmth treatment) and others, (e.g., prosthesis).
With recurrent illness due to a work accident, the continuity physician must normally be called.
In our orthopedic-surgical group practice, the following continuity physicians are licensed.
